We are very excited and pleased to announce Ben Andrews as an Official Brand Ambassador of Benny's of London.
Get to know Ben a little more and why we are so excited to have him on board.
Career to date - Ben Andrews is a British fencer, competing internationally as a member of the Great Britain Fencing Team. Four-time British Champion and double European and Commonwealth Medalist, Ben has made every selection for the Great British Team since his first selection in 2015, competing in both individual and team events across Europe and Russia.
Specialising in Epee, the heaviest of the three weapons used in the modern combat sport of Fencing, Ben has been competing since the age of 9, and has won national titles in the U20 and U23 age categories and delivers consistent performances at European and World level as a member of the GB Team.
An outstanding top 8 finish in the European Championships in Croatia in 2020 put Ben in top form for the World Championships in Saltlake City USA until the pandemic called a halt to all international competitions.
Throughout lockdown, Ben remained motivated and dedicated to his sport, training in isolation and supported online by a core of National Team Coaches and Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Awarded ‘Elite Athlete’ status, Ben was able to travel and train in carefully controlled bubbles, sparring with British Fencing Olympic athletes during lockdown. In the lead up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Ben was asked by Pentathlon GB to join their training camps to spar with their Modern Pentathletes, two of whom went on to win Gold Medals in Tokyo.
In the summer of 2021, Ben was selected for the TEAM GB Paris 2024 Olympic Ambition Programme. Designed by Team GB Olympians and supported by the British Olympic Association and UK Sport, the programme prepares elite athletes with Olympic potential.
Selected to represent GB at the Senior European Championships, Ben is now able to compete at World Cups and Grand Prix tournaments around the globe in this next stage of his sporting career.
